Heart cancer
Heart cancer or, as it is also called, heart sarcoma is a rare cancer, diagnosed and treated in Israel. Oncology of the heart is extremely dangerous, since cancer is very difficult to treat. In Israeli clinics, only narrow-profile specialists with sufficient experience in dealing with tumors near the heart (it does not matter if the patient is an adult or a child) are engaged in this.
Types of heart tumors and stages of development of the disease
Malignant heart tumors in children and adults, men and women are found with the same frequency. The influence of a genetic predisposition on the occurrence of a disease such as heart cancer has been established, the treatment of which is best carried out in Israel.
There are many types of heart cancer. 80 percent are benign tumors such as myxomas, lipomas, pericardial cysts, fibroids and others. The most common among them (half of cases) are myxomas (cancer of the left ventricle of the heart), which can grow up to 15 centimeters in diameter. In children, in 90 percent of cases, the following conclusion is made - curable heart cancer of the rhabdomyoma type.
Malignant tumors make up 20% of all cases. These are mainly sarcomas, but there are many other types. A separate group is heart tumors, like melanoma and carcinoma, which spread metastases.
The disease goes through the following stages:
- stage 1 heart cancer - tumor size <2 cm;
- stage 2 heart cancer - tumor size 2 - 5 cm, lymph nodes are affected;
- stage 3 heart cancer - tumor invasion into other organs;
- stage 4 heart cancer - metastases.
It is better to diagnose the disease at stage zero or first, after which it is worth going to Israel for heart cancer treatment.
Causes of the appearance and signs of development of heart oncology
First of all, genetics influences the appearance of oncology. Also, it is customary to refer to the causes of the formation of tumors:
- smoking;
- alcoholism;
- chronic fatigue;
- exposure toxic substances;
- infectious diseases;
- obesity.
The disease is often difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are identical for heart failure or ischemia. There are 3 groups of signs:
- intracavitary (insufficiency, stenosis);
- extracardinal (chills, weight loss, fever, drowsiness, shortness of breath);
- intramyocardial (arrhythmia or tachycardia).
The manifestation of symptoms can vary greatly depending on the specific type of cancer.
How is heart cancer treated in Israel?
The specific type of treatment for heart oncology is prescribed based on the stage of the disease and the results of the examination.
Chemotherapy is the most common type of treatment. Here, drugs are used that have a toxic effect on carcinogenic cells.
Surgical operations - tumors can be operated with an abdominal or laparoscopic method. The second has a number of advantages, in particular, faster rehabilitation and reduced risk of complications.
Radiation therapy - radiation therapy is often prescribed in parallel with chemotherapy. It inhibits the development of pathogenic cells. Radiation therapy is mainly suitable for patients for whom surgery is contraindicated.
