What you need to know about this type of cancer?

Sarcoma is a type of oncological disease, during which malignant formations affect the connective tissues of the body. Depending on the type of cells in which cancer processes occur, several types of the disease are distinguished. This type of cancer is considered one of the most aggressive, because without timely diagnosis and proper therapy, it can kill a patient in just a few months.

Many are sure that sarcoma is a disease that cannot be cured, therefore, upon learning about your diagnosis , panic and let things go by themselves. Meanwhile, every year in Israel, thousands of patients are successfully treated for fibrosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, liposarcoma and even cerebral sarcoma. Moreover, the price of treatment in Israeli cancer centers is much lower than in other countries of the world, and the effectiveness is several times higher.

How is the removal of the tumor?

Therapy directly depends on the type and stage of the disease, and also the general condition of the patient. For the treatment of sarcoma in Israeli clinics, the following methods are used:

surgical intervention;

chemotherapy;

radiation method;

targeted.

The program is selected individually for each patient. As a rule, it consists of surgery and conservative therapy.

When the tumor has not yet spread to neighboring tissues and organs, surgery is performed using minimally invasive methods that provide for minimal trauma and exclude severe blood loss. After such an operation, patients recover rather quickly. And if 20 years ago, bone sarcoma was treated by amputation of the entire limb, now Israeli surgeons remove only the affected tissue and part of the healthy one (to prevent recurrence).

Chemotherapy for sarcoma is the main conservative method. Its essence lies in the introduction of cytostatic drugs into the patient's body (usually intravenously), which destroy the malignant cells remaining after the operation. In addition, chemotherapy is the main treatment for inoperable forms, including the presence of multiple metastases.

During radiation therapy, malignant tumors are treated with ionizing waves. Israeli clinics use two types of procedures: contact and remote. In both cases, the latest equipment and innovative techniques are used, which significantly increase the chances of recovery.

The targeted method used by Israeli doctors is an innovative approach in oncology. It consists in the use of specific drugs that are able to recognize cancer cells in the body and destroy them.
